Ensuring confidentiality of bank customers personal data should be at the fore - Roskomnadzor

UFA, 17 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Today, creation of entirely new conditions facilitating frauds in global computer networks is of the greatest concern. This was reported at the opening of the 7th Ural Forum "Information Security of Banks" by the Deputy Head of Roskomnadzor Antonina Priezzheva. The forum takes place on February 15-20, at the business centre "Jubilee" in Abzelilovo region of Bashkortostan.
According to Antonina Priezzheva, Roskomnadzor receives a large number of citizens' complaints about the banking sector in terms of personal data rights violations. The number of such complaints from 2014 to 2015 doubled, while the number of confirmed arguments of citizens is declining. Half of the total number of citizens' complaints accounts for the actions of banks, other credit institutions and collection agencies.
"The number of complaints increases from year to year. In 2014, 6784 complaints for credit institutions were received, which accounted for 40.7 percent of the total number of complaints, of which nine percent were confirmed. In 2015 12 thousand complaints were received (45.4 percent and six percent were confirmed) ", said the Deputy Head of Roskomnadzor.
