Cost of minimum food basket is calculated in Bashkiria

UFA, 15 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan, the cost of the minimum food basket amounted to 3,317.43 rubles in January 2016. The sum increased by 1.3 percent compared to December of the previous year.

As Bashinform News Agency was informed by the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, when calculating the cost of the food basket, the unified, conventional rates of food consumption set nationwide, and average consumer prices for them are used. This figure is not a constituent element of the minimum subsistence level.

The minimal food basket consists of 33 types of products and is designed for the able-bodied population, pensioners and children. It includes bread, dairy products, pasta, potatoes, vegetables and melons, fresh fruit, sugar and confectionery products, meat, fish, eggs, butter, margarine, salt, tea and spices.
