Russians worry about economic situation, rising prices and low wages - VCIOM

UFA, 4 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The survey on the problems,which were the most relevant for the citizens of Russia in January this year, was presented by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM).
Statisticians reminded that for six months the top 3 of the most important problems of the country according to citizens consistently included the economy, inflation and low living standards.
In January 2016 the economy headed the rating of troubles. The concern about the situation in the economy started to be expressed in November last year by 17 percent of respondents and it reached 23 percent by January.
The most notable surge of alarm was recorded regarding the problem of rising prices. In December last year the inflation was considered the most acute problem of the country by 12 percent of respondents, in January of this year - 20 percent.
13 percent of Russians named low wages and standards of living among the problematic issues in the past three months. They were followed by unemployment (12 percent), social policy (9), foreign policy (7). The top ten of the "problem" rating included health care (7), education (7), the collapse of agriculture and industry (6), low pensions, the pension reform (5).
