Half of Russians believe that it is unacceptable to save on health care during the crisis- VCIOM

According to data of the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM), the Russians are willing to cut the spending on officials, housing and culture in the state budget, but consider it necessary to protect health care by any means.

Traditionally 49 percent of respondents offered to reduce budget expenditures by cutting spending on public administration (in 2009 - 64 percent). 18 percent of Russians agree to reduce expenditures on housing and communal services (against 10 percent in 2009), 14 percent - on culture, cinematography and media. 50 percent of Russians believe that even during a crisis it is impossible to save on health care (in 2009 - 44 percent).

According to the calculations of statisticians, one in four (26 percent) considers "inviolable" social policy, 24 percent - science and education. In 2009, the corresponding response shares were 30 percent - social policy and 24 percent - science and education. 18 percent of respondents consider unacceptable reducing the national defense costs (in the last economic crisis - 16 percent).
