Housing and communal tariffs growth will be two times lower next year - Mikhail Men’

UFA, 3 November 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The growth of tariffs for communal services in 2016 will be two times lower than in 2015. The total amount of payment for utility services in 2016 will grow by an average of not more than 4%. It actually is two times lower than in the current year, when the growth of tariffs for utility services constituted 8.3%. The Head of the Ministry of Construction RF Mikhail Men’ commented on the order of the Government of the Russian Federation on the indexation for utilities charges in each region. This was reported by the press centre of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, with reference to RIA "Novosti".

According to Mikhail Men’, two years ago at the initiative of the Ministry of Construction a law was adopted limiting the charges growth for utility services in every region of Russia. It was decided that in 2016 these restrictions will be quite substantial. The growth of aggregate payments on average in the country will not exceed 4%.

The Minister noted that this threshold can be overcome only by a decision of the local parliament in case of new services, such as gasification of a village, or a significant fundraising to the modernization of housing and communal services, such as for example construction of water deironing station.
