Issues of customs barriers removal will be discussed by the leaders of the BRICS countries

Issues of removing customs and other barriers at the trade between businessmen of the BRICS member-states will be discussed by the leaders of these countries. This was announced by the Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives on Promoting New Projects Andrey Nikitin during a plenary session of the First R2R Forum of small business of the SCO and BRICS countries, which takes place in Ufa.

According to the ASI head, the development of cooperation between businesses of BRICS countries is prevented by customs barriers and non-synchronization of customs legislation.

“The Russian Customs supported the idea of a "green corridor" for goods between the BRICS countries – i.e. items checked by one customs should not be checked by the "host" side”, said Andrei Nikitin.

Speaking about implementation of the National Business Initiative, Andrei Nikitin noted that in some areas of work with entrepreneurs there were several improvements, particularly in the field of connecting to the electric grid. "Unfortunately, all remained the same with connection to the gas mains – it still requires a period of one year", said the head of ASI.

As far as concerns work with municipalities Andrei Nikitin advises to use a system of multi-service centres, and to study and use the best practices of municipalities, in particular, the experience of the Ufa region administration where businesses are assisted in submitting documents.
