UFA, 14 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Pakistan is ready to import Russian goods worth 1-2 billion US dollars per year if the necessary amendments would be made to the import conditions. This was announced by the Advisor to the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia Ata Ul Munim Shahid at the press conference on the First R2R Forum of the SCO and BRICS member-states held in Moscow.
"Annual imports to Pakistan from around the world make more than 40 billion US dollars, while imports from Russia are about 250 million US dollars. Of course, we are interested in increasing the volume of imports of Russian goods”, Ata Ul Munim Shahid told reporters. “Pakistan may import Russian goods, ranging from the level of 1-2 billion US dollars per year, if necessary changes would be made in terms of imports from Russia and Bashkortostan in particular".
"We are planning to take an active part in the First Forum of small business of the regions of the SCO and BRICS member-states. The Forum provides a unique opportunity to meet and discuss current issues and ways of cooperation directly with small and medium enterprises not only from Bashkortostan, but also from many other regions of Russia,” underlined Ata Ul Munim Shahid. “We hope that the Forum will contribute to strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and Russia".
