Rustem Khamitov visited Skolkovo Innovation Centre

UFA, 13 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On October 12 in Moscow, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov visited the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.
The Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Andrey Burenin and Vice President of the Foundation Nikolay Grachev told about the structure and principles of the technopolis, scientific developments and prospects of its residents. The Skolkovo united 1070 technology start-ups, including 15 - from Bashkortostan. In addition, 58 major international and Russian companies signed an agreement on the deployment of R & D departments in Skolkovo.
Today, as part of the Innovation Centre five clusters are established: information, biomedical, energy efficiency, nuclear and space technologies. This year the Skolkovo Foundation began to develop a new line of its activities related to innovation in agriculture.
The Director General of the Directorate of the Joint Asset Management and Service of Skolkovo Anton Yakovenko presented the centre infrastructure to the Head of Bashkortostan. On the plot of land of 400 hectares the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skolkovo Tech), industrial park, business centre, house for start-ups, residential areas, social infrastructure (kindergartens, schools, etc.) will be located. The total area of the property is 2.6 million sq m. The technopark includes centres for prototyping, metrology research, biomedical services; it provides the test centre services.
The system of the "Smart City" will optimize traffic flow, control lighting, ventilation and energy consumption. The use of alternative energy sources: solar panels, thermal collectors, heat pumps, heat exchangers will help to save resources and minimize negative impacts on the environment.
Currently active design and construction are under way on more than 60 percent of the territory of the innovation city. The first urban infrastructure is commissioned and operated, roads and utilities are built, and landscaping is done. It planned to finish the construction by 2020.
As specific areas of cooperation between the Skolkovo Foundation and the Republic of Bashkortostan it was proposed to establish a testing ground for the oil industry, cooperate on the "Smart City" project, to collaborate with JSC "Bashkir Register of Social Cards".
