Bashneft has completely transferred production to Euro-5 motor fuel

UFA, 8 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The PSJOC Bashneft has completely transferred production to Euro-5 motor fuel. This was discussed at a meeting on modernization of oil refineries, which was held by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was attended by the Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, the President of PJSOC Bashneft Alexander Korsik.
In his speech, Dmitry Medvedev noted the importance of the industry transition to production of motor gasoline of Euro 5 class. He said that the production modernization plans would depend on the general state of affairs in the industry, the oil prices, the current tax policy.
Complete rejection from Euro-4 motor fuel production and transition to a more environmentally friendly fuel of Euro-5 class is provided until July 2016. Dmitry Medvedev noted that over the period 2011-2014 the oil companies had invested 823 billion rubles in the refinery modernization and 214 billion still to be invested this year. This allowed in recent years significantly increasing production of petroleum products of Euro 5 class: of motor gasoline little more than by 60 times and of diesel fuel - by four times.
The Bashneft company in October 2014 completed the modernization stage of the refinery complex for production of only Euro-5 motor fuel. This became possible after putting into pilot operation of the new hydrogen production unit of "Bashneft-Novoil" branch.
According to experts, the start of the new unit will allow the company to enter a new technological level, to produce 100% of gasoline and diesel fuel in accordance with the Euro-5 standard and, as a consequence, to make a significant contribution to environmental protection. Bashneft is still one of the largest investors in the economy of Bashkortostan directing significant investments in modernization of production facilities, the press service of the Chief Federal Inspector in the republic informs.
