58% of Russians save money "for future use" - VCIOM

UFA, 14 September 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. A study by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre shows that 58% of citizens increasingly save money "for future use", and try to spend "at a minimum". Half less (27%) of respondents believe that it is better to spend wages on purchases and daily necessities. This model of economic behavior as a whole has remained unchanged since the beginning of the year. Sociologists presented data of the survey showing what model of economic behavior was considered the best among Russians.
"About two-thirds of Russians (64% in August) consider the present situation as unfavourable for large purchases. The indicator displaying the level of credit of trust of citizens is in stagnation. 78% of respondents believe that take loans is inexpedient”, it is said in a statement of VCIOM. “With respect to the funds accumulated in banks, 41% advise to withdraw them. 33% believe that savings must be deposited. The first position is more typical for 25-44-year-olds (47%), villagers (48%), people with low income (55%). The second view is shared, first of all, by financially secured citizens (41%), residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (44%)".
