Russian Post and China Post are implementing new solutions for cross-border trade development

UFA, 4 September 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. The Russian Post and China Post are implementing new solutions for the development of cross-border trade. During the official visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to China the CEO of Russian Post Dmitry Strashnov and the President of the China Post Li Guohua signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation and cross-border online trade development.

The Russian Post and China Post are going to start the delivery of mail by rail as part of freight and passenger trains. This decision will contribute to further growth of trade turnover between the two countries and development of transit potential of Russia.

"We encourage active and fruitful collaboration with the Post of China. Today, more than 80% of incoming international mail items arrive in Russia from China. At the same time for the first half of 2015 the volume of forwarded mail increased by 1.5 times compared to the previous year,” said Dmitry Strashnov.

In addition, postal administrations are planning to launch a new joint logistic solution for delivery of items from China to Russia in a guaranteed period of up to seven days. The coverage area, the method of labeling and other technical characteristics of the new service will be determined by the partners before November 1, 2015.
