Rustem Khamitov: "It is crucially important to unite the efforts of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan enterprises and research centres"

On September 2, in Kazan the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered a speech at the plenary session of the International research and practice conference "Peculiarities of exploration and exploitation of unconventional hydrocarbons", which takes place in the framework of the 12th Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum.

“Enterprises of oil and gas industry form 43 percent of products shipped, 36 percent of tax revenues to the consolidated budget of the republic,” Rustem Khamitov said in his speech.

According to him, the fuel and energy complex of the republic is developing at a good pace. Over the past five years, such enterprises as Bashneft, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, Sibur, Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant, Bashkir Soda Company directed about 200 billion rubles for this purposes. The petrochemical cluster, cluster of small-scale petrochemistry, oil and gas engineering and geophysical cluster are established and successfully operate in the republic. The centre of collective access to petrochemical equipment and prototyping centre of low-tonnage petrochemical products and production technologies are formed.

“As a result the range of products is increased, costs are reduced, the process of creating new products and technologies is optimized increasing revenues of cluster members. For example, today in Bashkortostan engineering companies can replace more than 90 percent of the refining technologies”, underlined the Head of the Republic.

Rustem Khamitov suggested creating an inter-regional oil and gas chemical cluster in the Volga Federal District, where the companies of petrochemical profile were concentrated.

“Today it is crucially important to unite the efforts of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan enterprises and research centres. This will give us a synergy, a new effect that will enable us further confidently holding the leading positions in our country and, of course, entering world markets as a big, strong, powerful structure,” said the Head of the Region.
