Bashkiria passengers prefer commuter train to railway

UFA, 6 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. In railway transport commuter trains are the most popular among the residents of Bashkortostan. According to statistics, 2,325,000 people used passenger services of "Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company" for the first half of 2015. Daily about six thousand inhabitants of the republic, and Penza, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions and Mordovia become passengers of Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company (BSPC).

According to the press service of BSPC, more than 1 million 244 thousand people bought full price tickets in the last six months. Today, Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company provides almost one third of all commuter traffic in the republic.

Currently, 52 trains in five suburban routes run within Bashkir part of Kuibyshev Railway. According to statistics, the greatest number of tickets was sold in three directions: Ufa - Sterlitamak, Ufa - Raevka and Ufa - Ulu Telyak.

According to experts, suburban rail transport remains the most accessible and socially oriented with rates still below the cost of travel by other types of transport.
