Ufa Declaration and Action Plan will be adopted at BRICS Summit in Ufa

UFA, 9 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/. On July 9, a number of key documents will be signed at the BRICS Summit. They will summarize some of the intermediate results of the work of the organization during the Russian presidency. This was announced at the briefing by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Russian Sherpa in BRICS Sergey Ryabkov. According to him, more than 100 events at different levels and nearly 30 meetings at ministerial level will be held during the whole period of the Russian presidency.

"Today, you will see the so-called Ufa Action Plan, which is a summary matrix of our work while the Presidency in the BRICS", Sergey Ryabkov said. According to him, on July 9, the leaders will also consider Ufa Declaration and the strategy of economic partnership.

The BRICS extends the scope of its activities at the July Summit, the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry informed.

"Today in Ufa the BRICS takes the next step in terms of expanding the areas of its work", Sergey Ryabkov marked. This "expansion" will affect industry, health care, including joint counteraction to infectious diseases, coordination of foreign policy activity.

"We are working on all the most pressing, topical international issues", Sergey Ryabkov said naming among them the problems of the Middle East, the space activities security, combating drug trafficking, counteracting international piracy and proliferation of weapons of mass annihilation.
