Rustem Khamitov met with Hyundai Motor CIS CEO Koo Young-Key

UFA, 24 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. On June 24 in the House of the Republic the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the CEO of Hyundai Motor CIS Koo Young-Key. The parties discussed issues of transport support during the upcoming SCO and BRICS Summits in Ufa, as well as prospects of cooperation of the company with the republican enterprises.

The Head of the Region marked that the republic was ready to cooperate fully with the Korean company.

"We could be engaged in the work of your group company regarding the manufacture of parts and components and other products. We have 15 companies that manufacture products for the automotive industry. In particular, we manufacture hardware and standard components for the automotive industry, the compensation systems for exhaust units. We produce upholstery interior of the cabin, exterior parts, interior fiberglass,” the Head of the Republic said. “In short, we are ready for a large-scale cooperation with your corporation. It would be very interesting for us".

Hyundai Motor CIS CEO Koo Young-Key thanked the Head of Bashkortostan and the organizing committee of the SCO and BRICS Summits for their support.

"It is a great honour for us that we have provided 232 vehicles, which will be the official cars of the event. We pay great attention to the quality of these cars. We are confident that the event will be held at the highest level, and our cars will contribute to it", Koo Young-Key said.

According to him, such cars like Equus, Genesis, i40 and H1 will be used at the Summits. Thus the i40 model production was launched recently - on June 16.

Koo Young-Key marked that the proposal of cooperation he would submit to senior management of the company.

"There is our factory with production capacity of 220,000 cars a year in St. Petersburg. This plant is working very successfully. I think that we will have opportunities for cooperation with the Republic of Bashkortostan", Hyundai Motor CIS CEO said.

Recall that the organizing committee on preparation and chairmanship of the Russian Federation at the SCO in 2014-2015 and BRICS signed a memorandum with Hyundai Motor CIS in 2015. The Hyundai brand is selected as the official car of the Summits - the meeting of the Council of heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the meeting of heads of states and governments of the BRICS countries in Ufa.

The overall coordination of all vehicles during the Summits will be provided by SUE "Bashautotrans" involving staff with knowledge of Chinese, Portuguese and English.
