Government of Bashkortostan signed several agreements at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum

On June 19 in St. Petersburg as part of 19th International Economic Forum the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in the general meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, the press service of the Head of the Region informs.

During the general meeting the results of the Association and its committees work in 2014, prospects of cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation were discussed. Members of the Association Council and the Audit Commission were elected.

The Head of the Republic held meetings with managers and owners of several companies of fuel and energy sector, agribusiness, financial sector, engineering and other industries.

The Government of Bashkortostan signed a number of agreements at SPIEF. This is in particular an agreement with the Russian Foundation for Technological Development (RTDF Development Fund Industry) and with AVG Capital Partners Investment Company. The long-term cooperation with AVG Capital Partners envisages a deep grain processing complex establishing to produce biodegradable plastics, organic acids, artificial sweeteners, starch, gluten and feed additives in Bashkortostan.

Development Corporation of the Republic in presence of the Head of the Region Rustem Khamitov signed an agreement with X5 Retail Group. The document provides for selection of a site for construction of a logistics and distribution centre to localize regional enterprises-suppliers.

The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia was established in 2010 in Tomsk at the 13th Innovation Forum «Innovus» to promote the effectiveness of innovative development of the member- regions. Initially, it was composed of eight regions. In subsequent years, another six subjects of the Russian Federation joined them. Bashkortostan is a member of the association since 2012.
