Bashhim and Bashkir Soda Company raised serious industry issues at the International Forum

UFA, 22 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. On May 21, in Ufa the V International Forum "Big Chemistry" opened where Bashkir Soda Company acted as a general sponsor.
The Forum was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich, Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Energy Minister Cyril Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsyb. The delegation of the Bashkir Soda Company included: the Member of the Board of Directors Dmitry Pyatkin, CEO of BSC An Yong Dock, CEO of Bashhim Sergey Merzlyakov. The working day began with a business breakfast with the Deputy Prime Minister RF Arkady Dvorkovich.
One of the central topics of the forum was the strategy of chemical industry development in the new economic and political conditions, investment projects, prospects of the SCO and BRICS cooperation.
An important issue was raised in the report of the Bashhim CEO Sergey Merzlyakov. He noted that in January this year, in connection with the so-called fiscal maneuver, companies buying and consuming ethylene as a raw material for further production, received it at a higher price. Ethylene as a commercial product is shipped to such enterprises as Sayanskkhimplast, RusVinyl and BSC. And all of them were "forgotten" in terms of compensation for the consequences of such tax maneuver. These companies were at a disadvantage with those which process ethylene of their own production.
The Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich also acknowledged that some companies that buy ethylene, in connection with this tax maneuver had "some questions". "We are now considering this issue”, Deputy Prime Minister said. “I think that a solution can be found without compromising the country's economy".
The Forum was recognized as productive. Annual holding of "Big Chemistry" Forum promotes development of a number of chemical enterprises of Bashkiria, Rustem Khamitov said. "A number of enterprises of the republic powerfully moved forward: Bashneft, SIBUR, Bashkir Soda Company", the Head of the Republic said at the plenary session. Also, he said that the region managed to unite small and medium businesses in clusters. "And this is also the results of our discussions, putting into practice the ideas that were developed on the platform of the Forum", the Head of Bashkortostan added.
