Implementation of major road projects will be launched in Bashkortostan next year

In Bashkortostan, since January 1, 2016 construction of direct entrance road to the federal M-5 highway and Sterlitamak - Kaga - Magnitogorsk highway from Ufa will be launched. This was reported at the board of the State Committee for Transport of Bashkortostan by the director of the Federal Centre for Project Finance Alexander Yashechkin.

According to Alexander Yashechkin, the project of direct entrance road from Ufa to M-5 consists of three parts: a road tunnel, a bridge crossing and a road connecting these two elements to the federal highway.

Now a financial model is formed for these projects. It is similar in both cases and allows attracting private investment. Regarding the first project the director of the Federal Centre for Project Finance informed: "The calculations were taken considering two scenarios: basic and optimistic. According to the first scenario the republic makes all payments to the investor by itself, and the optimistic scenario assumes the federal investment in the amount of 30 percent. It is about providing a federal grant for the investment stage". According to the second scenario for the entire period of the M-5 project 47.7 billion rubles will be received by the federal budget, which is twice the capital cost of the project. In addition, the scenario with the federal grant will allow the republic capitalizing 26 billion rubles on the project.

Travel on the roads is expected to be payable. "The size of the toll will be set by the owner of the road, i.e. the republic." In both projects it is expected to announce a tender in the second and third quarter of 2015, to enter the construction stage - since January 1, 2016.
