Ministry of Transport of Russia expects further development of Bashkortostan transport sector after the Summits

UFA, 13 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/. The Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Nikolay Asaul on board of State Committee for Transport RB in Ufa expressed his hope that after the SCO and BRICS Summits the transport sector development in the republic would continue.

The deputy minister said that the department was satisfied with the development of the aviation industry in the region, the reconstruction of the Ufa airport. He also marked the development of road transport in the region, focusing on the expanding of the NGV and electric vehicles fleet. The deputy head of the federal agency said that the development of electric and gas motor transport would be supported by subsidies "Federal support that we launched in 2012, will continue. In 2014, grants were allocated in the amount of three billion rubles, this year the same amount will be allocated".

According to Nikolay Asaul, electric transport can be a substitute for the subway in Ufa: "With proper organization of routes the electric transport can function as a high-speed transport. We are now finalizing a bill that would regulate the work of underground and high-speed off-street types of transport; this will involve concessionaires and private investors in the development of this sector". In this regard, the Deputy Minister noted that the Ministry of Transport of Russia would be ready to help Bashkortostan in the project on introduction of high-speed public transport.
