Damage caused by illegal logging amounted to more than half a million rubles in Bashkortostan

UFA, 16 April 2015. /Bashinform News Agency,Arthur Basyrov/. In Bashkortostan, for the period from March 9 to 31, 118 violations of forest law were revealed, including 15 cases of illegal logging of 69 cubic metres. According to the Ministry of Forestry RB, the sum of the damage amounted to 556,000 rubles.

“During the operation, 567 raids were carried out, involving 284 police officers and 356 forest inspectors. 418 vehicles were checked with 4,478 cubic metres of timber. 72 trucks were detained to verify the legitimacy of logging”, the leading expert of the state forest control and supervision of the Ministry Ildar Valschikov said.

Inspectors of federal state forest fire control filed 127 reports on administrative offenses on the grounds of detected violations. All materials on the facts of illegal logging were transferred to law enforcement authorities. Seven criminal cases were instituted.
