Ufa is almost ready for the SCO and the BRICS Summits - Organizing Committee

UFA, 2 April 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Juliya Antipina/. Ufa is almost ready for the SCO and the BRICS Summits, which will start working in 97 days, Bashkortostan Government Minister Ruslan Mirsayapov said at a press conference in Ufa.
In general, about 10 billion rubles were spent for the preparation of various objects to the Summits. Thus, according to Ruslan Mirsayapov, 600 million rubles were allocated by the republic for the reconstruction of the Congress Hall, which in July will be a centre of business and political life. The same sum was used for the reconstruction of the international terminal of the Ufa airport. In addition, Bashkortostan received 2 billion rubles of the federal funds - they went to the modernization of the airport and the bank of the Belaya River. More than 6 billion rubles were invested by developers in the construction of hotel complexes.
Ruslan Mirsayapov named key points of preparation for international events. Ufa airport is modernized and its capacity increased from 200 to 800 people per hour. The second runway is launched, which potentially makes it possible to increase the number of direct flights from Ufa to any destination. Today the airport meets international standards and is one of the best in the country (2nd place of the National Award "Air Gates of Russia").
In Ufa the hotels are being opened that will welcome the first working group of participants of the forum in May and June. Total seven new hotels of international level will be opened to the Summits in Ufa; hotel capacity will increase by more than one thousand rooms.
Ruslan Mirsayapov said that on July 8-10, in the days of the Summits, Ufa townspeople would not experience discomfort associated with the work of the forums. The only place inaccessible for walking will be Salavat Yulaev Square. It is expected that there an international press centre will be organized, where more than one thousand journalists will be able to work. Some public transport routes will change, which will be announced in advance.
