Ufa Airport reconstruction was presented in Moscow

The second National Exhibition of Airports Infrastructure and Civil Aviation (NAIS & CA-2015) was held in the Moscow "Crocus City" business centre. A stand dedicated to Ufa International Airport reconstruction ahead of the SCO and BRICS Summits was one of the important expositions.

Modernization touched all airport facilities, but focused on the airfield. Now the airport is equipped with a parking apron for 36 aircrafts, the reconstructed runway capable of accommodating any, even super heavy aircrafts such as "747" and "Airbus 330". "The runway was expanded in length and the coating was strengthened. After carried out works its PCN value would increase from 56 to 83, but even now, with the current ratio, two runways of the airport are able to accommodate almost all types of aircrafts", General Director of FSUE "Administration of Civil Airports (Airfields)" Michael Zherebtsov said.

According to Michael Zherebtsov, about 4.5 billion rubles were directed for the reconstruction of runways, taxiways, platforms and installation of lighting equipment of 10 billion rubles allocated from the federal target program. Thus, by optimizing the design and implementation of new technology in the construction it would be possible to save at least 2 billion rubles, he considers.

Upon completion of all works Ufa airport will increase its capacity from the current 200 to 800 passengers per hour and will be able to host a huge flow of passengers traveling long international flights via Moscow so far, including direct international flights and charter tourism, experts say.
