Indian Ambassador to Russia visited the assembly shop of UMPO

UFA, 4 February 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/. Indian Ambassador to Russia P. S. Raghavan during the visit of the Indian diplomatic mission in Ufa visited Ufa Engine Industrial Association (UMPO). At a meeting with the top managers of UMPO the diplomat showed interest and expressed confidence in the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation, the press service of the association informs.

Mr. Raghavan visited the assembly plant and test bench, watched the afterburner of engine AL-31 AF. This engine is the UMPO’s main product supplied to India. In the book of honour, which is stored in the museum enterprise the Ambassador wrote an entry: "We are proud of such a long history of close relations with UMPO, with which we have many decades of successful partnership".

As UMPO reports first aircrafts with engines manufactured by UMPO began to be operated in India in the 1950s. Currently the association delivers to India Ufa engines for the Su-30MKI fighters, and comprehensively promotes the organization of licensed production of these products and creation of service-technical centres on their service.

JSC "Ufa Engine Industrial Association" is the Russian largest manufacturer of aircraft engines. It is engaged in development, manufacturing, service and repair of turbojet engines and pumping units, production and repair of helicopters units. It is included in the United Engine Corporation (UEC) — a wholly owned subsidiary of JSC OPK "Oboronprom" on engine assets management.
