Sports facility in Sterlitamak and the second tunnel in Ufa can be built as public-private partnerships

UFA, 2 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/. In Bashkortostan, five projects can be implemented on the basis of public-private partnerships. This was said by adviser to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bashkortostan Bulat Asadullin at the Entrepreneurship Week on December 2. It relates to construction of a tunnel, a toll road Sterlitamak - Kaga - Magnitogorsk, sports facility "Sportakademiya" in Sterlitamak, development of photo-video recording at weight-checking points and creating inter-municipal waste management system.

“They all are at one or another stages of the public-private partnership agreement conclusion”, Bulat Asadullin said. “With regard to the "Sportakademiya" project it will reach the concession agreement stage in February-March 2015.”

Public-private partnership involves an agreement between business and government on implementation of projects: the state provides entrepreneurs with a site and tax preferences, and entrepreneurs at their own expense implement a project and receive profit. The term of the concession agreement can be up to 49 years.
