Ufa airport passenger traffic increased by nine percent for ten months of 2014

UFA, 5 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Ufa International Airport for ten months served by nine percent more passengers than for the same period of the last year, the press service of the air hub informs.

The total number of passengers exceeded 247,000 people. 115,000 passengers departed (an increase of nine percent), 110,000 people arrived, an increase of 10 percent.

The total volume of cargo transportation amounted to more than three thousand tons (an increase of five percent) for ten months of 2014. Mail shipment also increased – by 20 percent more than the last year. The number of sorties increased, 12 thousand 704 runway operations were made, which is by five percent more than for the same period of 2013.

Recall that this year the Ufa airport served the two-millionth passenger in October. The airport reached this indicator one month earlier than in 2013, ahead of all major air-hubs of Volga Federal District.

Overall growth in passenger traffic on domestic routes in the period from January to October 2014 was due to increased demand for flights to Simferopol, Sochi, Nizhnevartovsk and Moscow. The most popular regional destinations were flights from Ufa to Kazan. The leaders of passenger traffic to tourist destinations were Hurghada, Barcelona, Heraklion and Larnaca.
