“Lastochka” train will run between Samara, Ufa and Chelyabinsk

UFA, 29 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Due to the significant volume of local railway traffic (17.1 percent of the total passenger traffic) Kuibyshev Railway considers a possibility of inter-regional communications development with launching seven railroad trains "Lastochka" (Swallow). The estimated speed of the train - 110 km per hour.

It is planned that "Lastochka" will run on the following routes: Samara - Ufa - Chelyabinsk, Samara - Saratov - Volgograd, Samara - Penza, Samara - Saransk. It is planned to launch a pilot run between Ufa and Samara by 2017.

It is assumed that the Samara - Ufa - Chelyabinsk train will run all year round, daily. The travel time between Samara and Ufa will be 4 hours and 45 minutes, between Ufa and Chelyabinsk - 4 hours 20 minutes.
