It is planned to open new international terminal of Ufa Airport in late 2014

UFA, 24 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. Construction of a new international terminal of Ufa Airport is going on up to the schedule - according to optimistic forecasts, it will be opened in late 2014, the CEO of Ufa Airport Alexander Andreev reports.

The capacity of the new international terminal will be 800 passengers per hour, about 1.3 million people per year.

Speaking about the reconstruction of the airport, Alexander Andreev noted that works were going on in two directions. The construction of a connecting taxiway is being completed; an apron for seven wide-body aircrafts and an area for aircrafts treatment with icing fluid are built. At the same time a sewage system, storm drainage, patrol road are still under construction. The perimeter fence with length of 22 km was reconstructed. In November it is planned to equip it with thermal imaging cameras and motion detectors and video surveillance system.

“The total amount of federal funds committed at this stage is more than 2.7 billion rubles,” Alexander Andreev said.

The process equipment for the new terminal has already been delivered at the airport, including baggage handling systems, visual passenger information. The installation of three air bridges capable of servicing all types of aircrafts is completed. The total area of the international terminal will be more than 16 thousand square meters.

In the long term Ufa Airport development supposes creation of complex artificial instrument landing of artificial runway, which will allow sending and accommodating aircrafts in any weather.

After the Summits the second phase of the airfield reconstruction will begin. The project envisages strengthening of the coating of artificial runway-2, including the reconstruction of the existing lighting equipment and the strengthening of the platform.
