Situation in the food market of the republic is stable - Nikolay Kovalenko

UFA, 23 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. In Bashkortostan, a set of necessary measures to control the growth of food prices is adopted. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture RB Nikolay Kovalenko at a meeting of the working group on monitoring the situation in food markets and food prices in the regions of the Volga Federal District. The meeting was held by the Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Alsu Gainutdinova.
According to monitoring results in September and early October a rise in prices for fruit and vegetables was registered in the Volga Federal District. The working group noted that one of the reasons was an increase in selling prices of federal wholesale market operators due to reduced supplies from Europe. There was also a trend of rising prices for meat, dairy and fish products.
Nikolay Kovalenko noted in his speech that the situation in the food market of the republic was stable. The Government RB is taking steps on organizing import substitution and balancing the food market. The working group continues to monitor prices and takes actions to curb their unreasonable growth. Over the last month there was an increase in purchasing prices for raw milk by 50 kopecks, which was due to the seasonal decline in production volumes. Butter selling price increased by 13 rubles, cottage cheese –by 1 ruble, hard cheeses - by 24-44 rubles.
Alsu Gainutdinova urged the representatives of the working group to conduct regional analysis of objective and subjective factors that influenced the rise in prices, as well as to develop proposals to address the problems identified.
Summary reports on the situation in food regional markets of the district and the prices of goods are provided on a weekly basis to the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich.
