Bashneft commissions the largest hydrogen production unit in Russia

UFA, 8 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/. New hydrogen production unit with capacity of 153,000 tons per year is launched at the Bashneft-Novoil Branch on October 8. Today it is the largest in Russia in its manufacturing capacity, the press service of Bashneft informs.

Construction of the unit was carried out since September 2012. Investment in the project exceeded 12 billion rubles.

Upon the commissioning of the new facility, the total hydrogen production to Bashneft’s refineries has nearly tripled. Needs in hydrogen will be fully satisfied at the plants. All motor gasoline will meet Euro 5 standards and will have ultra-low sulfur content - less than 10 ppm (0,001 percent).

The hydrogen production unit at the Bashneft-Novoil Branch was constructed under a licence of Foster Wheeler (U.S.A). It allows producing high-purity (99.99%) industrial hydrogen used in hydrotreating.
