Chambers of Commerce of Bashkortostan and Latvia signed a cooperation agreement

UFA, 24 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bashkortostan together with the European Information and Advisory Centre was on a business trip to Latvia and Lithuania. The organizer of the visit was Baltic International Centre "Salavat Yulaev". The visit program was supported by the Russian Embassy in Latvia and Lithuania, Riga City Council, as well as the Latvian Chamber of Commerce, the Estonian-Russian Chamber of Entrepreneurs and Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Lithuania.
The main business and cultural events for Bashkortostan representatives were held in Riga, where meetings with business and official circles of Latvia took place. During the negotiations, an agreement was signed on cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of Latvia and Bashkortostan. Also during the visit the delegation of the republic acquainted with the tourist potential of Riga, which was announced the European Capital of Culture of 2014.
In the Riga Duma representatives of the republic met with the head of the local Tourism Development Bureau Vita Yermolovicha. She told in detail how the city managed to achieve such success in promotion of its travel brands and investment in this sector. Participants of the meeting discussed the main events in Riga and Ufa during 2014-2015, as well as a possibility of cooperation between two capitals.
Also during the visit the delegation of Bashkortostan and the heads of Baltic International Centre "Salavat Yulaev" visited the city of Vilnius. Here the signing of two agreements on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce RB and Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists and Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts was held.
As Rina Khamitova, the head of the "Salavat Yulaev" centre marked, good progress in development of relations between Latvia and Bashkortostan is observed not only in the economic sphere, but also in formation of new connections in cultural, scientific and educational fields. Latvia is in first place with a relative share of 17 percent of the total turnover of Bashkortostan.
