Chairman of the Ural Bank of Sberbank commented on the rumours of licenses withdrawal from regional banks

UFA, 23 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency,Sergey Zakharov/. Rumors about the problems in the banking system of the Sverdlovsk region are groundless. This was said by the Chairman of the Ural Bank of Sberbank Vladimir Cherkashin at a press conference on the situation in the regional financial market.

Yesterday in number of media and social networks there was information about the imminent withdrawal of licenses from several Ural banks. This caused panic among residents, who began urgently withdrawing cash assets from banks subject to the information attack.

Just for one day through self-service units located in Yekaterinburg, cardholders withdrew 627 million rubles. "This is by 38 percent more than usual, but we were able to provide cash for everyone", Vladimir Cherkashin said.

He also marked that the rumours about the revocation of licenses of the largest banks in the Urals, were likely to be a manifestation of unfair competition. "I believe that in the coming days, everyone will forget about this panic", the Chairman of the Ural Bank of Sberbank said.
