Industrial production of Bashkiria increased by 1.6 percent in January-August

UFA, 19 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency,Iliya Spiridonov/. For eight months the industrial production index amounted to 101.6 percent in the republic compared to the same period of 2013, slightly higher than the nationwide result (101.3), according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.

In August the industrial production index reached the level of 99.4 percent to August 2013 and 95.8 percent - to July 2014.

Since the beginning of the year a positive trend was observed in the chemical industry (growth of 11.5 percent compared to January-July 2013), wood processing (6.6), food production (4.5), electrical equipment (3.5), machinery and equipment (3.2), mining (3.2), generation and distribution of electricity, gas and water (2.4), production of petroleum products (1.7) and other non-metallic mineral products (0.4).

The reduction in production of finished products was marked in pulp and paper production, publishing and printing (38.7 percent compared to January-August 2013), in manufacture of rubber and plastic products (32.1), in textile and clothing industry (8,9), leather and footwear (8.1), metallurgy (5.7), manufacture of transport equipment (0.4).

In January-August in regions of the Volga Federal District the industrial production index ranged from 96.5 percent in the Ulyanovsk region to 114.3 percent in the Republic of Mordovia.
