Bashkortostan is the leader in the Volga Federal Region by number of issued credit cards

UFA, 18 September 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Iliya Spiridonov/. Bashkortostan ranks first in the Volga Federal District by the number of bank cards issued, and the sixth in the Russian banking system.

At the beginning of July 24.9 thousand POS terminals to pay for goods and services were available in the republic, which is by 36.2 percent more than the year before, the regional branch of the Central Bank reports. There are 5.8 thousand ATMs and payment terminals in the region, which is by 13.6 percent higher than for the same period of the last year.

Development of electronic payments means directly affects the statistics of non-cash transactions. In the first half of the republic 115.7 million transactions were held totaling 283.6 billion rubles. This is more than for the same period of 2013 by 31.6 and 15.4 percent, respectively. The share of non-cash transactions in the total volume of operations with plastic cards increased compared to the last year, from 50.2 to 60 percent in quantity and from 12.7 to 15.4 percent – in sum.
