Lending to the economy grew by 6.7 percent in Bashkortostan

The total amount of loans granted by banks to the republican economy amounted to 507.9 billion rubles for the first seven months of 2014, the regional branch of the Central Bank informs. This is by 6.7 percent more than for the same period of the last year.

The volume of lending to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs increased by 8.7 percent - up to 381.6 billion rubles. Loans to small and medium-sized businesses had an increase of 10.3 percent (64.4 billion rubles). Loans to agricultural producers, in contrast, fell by 26.8 percent - to 6.9 billion rubles.

Representatives of the regional office of the Central Bank note the positive impact of the government support measures provided by the republican long-term target program "Development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural products markets, markets of raw materials and food". For seven months of 2014 as part of its implementation agricultural producers were granted 5343 loans for the sum of 7.5 billion rubles that is two times higher than the target value.

However, since the beginning of the year the outstanding loan balance increased by 16.9 percent - to 649.9 billion rubles. This is higher than the all-Russian value of 8.8 percent. The share of overdue loans also increased from 2.9 to 3.5 percent.
