Russians don’t like alcoholic cocktails - VCIOM

Sociologists of VCIOM (All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre) figured out how citizens related to measures taken in the country to limit alcohol consumption. According to the poll published in today's issue of «Rossiskaya Gazeta» every tenth Russian drinks beer regularly (weekly) (among men - one in five, or 19 percent). Only three percent of women confessed in weekly consumption of beer. 21 percent of pollees can afford a jug or a bottle of beer every month. Wine and spirits are far less popular - they are drunk mainly no more than twice in few months. Wine with such frequency is consumed by one-third (32 percent) of Russians, strong spirits – by one quarter (25 percent). Alcoholic cocktails are drunk in Russia the most rarely: 87 percent of respondents did not buy them at all. 55 percent of citizens never drink beer, 58 percent ignore champagne and wine, the same number does not even have a taste of hard liquor.
