Electrobus by "NefAZ" company ran the first ten thousand kilometres

The first ten thousand kilometres appeared on the odometer of the first Russian electric bus of large class "NefAZ-52992" (NefAZ belongs to the group of companies "KAMAZ").
The electrobus is used in the corporate transport fleet of Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant. Since May 2014, the electrobus runs every day up to 90 km, bringing workers from Kalinin Square, a major transportation hub of the city, to the factory site. At the same time, making seven runs per day, the electrobus is charged once in two days.
The electrobus is designed basing on the bus "NefAZ-52992" for the fuel corporation of Rosatom "TVEL" by the specialists of research institute of integrated electrical installations and JSC "NefAZ". On a single charge the electrobus is able to cover 250 kilometres, and it is designed to carry 110 people. It is equipped with a three-phase induction motor of 150 kW and a lithium-iron-phosphate battery (LiFePO4) with power consumption of 313.6 kWh. The external charging station of 500 kW allows fully charging the battery of the electric bus for 30 minutes. The process of fully charging of the electric bus by the onboard 48 kW charger takes eight hours (the so-called "night charge").
The telemetering system sending service information on a remote computer about the main components and the battery is installed on the electrobus. Testing winter operation of the bus proved the ability of the battery to retain its properties and performance characteristics in Siberian frosts.
The cost of the electric bus is 13-15 million rubles. Operation of the electro bus costs the company much cheaper than the usual bus: full charge of the battery at current electricity rates does not exceed 600 rubles, while filling the bus with motor fuel would cost four times as much.
