499.8 million rubles are allocated to compensate the lost revenues of JSC Russian Railways in 2014

In 2014 499.8 million rubles are allocated in the budget of Bashkortostan for compensation of lost revenues of JSC Russian Railways, the press service of the State Committee on Transport and Road facilities RB informs.

Annually over 4.1 million passengers, 534,000 pensioners and veterans, 436,000 pupils and students, including those from other regions are transported by the suburban commuter rail in the territory of Bashkortostan. Transportation is carried out on 88 regular routes by three suburban companies: JSC "Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company", JSC "Sodruzhestvo" and JSC "Sverdlovsk Suburban Company".

For seven months of 2014 the lost income from passengers’ suburban rail transportation of "Bashkortostan Suburban Passenger Company" amounted to 269.6 million rubles. As of August 15, 2014 the State Committee funded current payments in the amount of 189.6 million rubles. As part of the agreement the State Committee RB on Transport and Road Facilities fulfills its obligations in full, including the compensation payment for lost revenues associated with the state regulation of tariffs.

The State Committee representatives marked that reduction of the route network and areas of commuter rail is not planned. A systematic work to increase the number of trains and carriages in spring and summer seasons and return to the basic volume of traffic in the autumn-winter period is being conducted.
