102 farmers received development grants in Bashkortostan

102 republican farmers were awarded grants for the economy development, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB informs. The appropriate certificates were presented them by the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Nikolay Kovalenko.
Such state support of farmers-beginners and family livestock farms operates in the republic since 2012. Thus, 203 applications were filed for participation in the program on supporting farmers-beginners this year, of which the competition commission selected 65. 85 million rubles were allocated from the budget for their implementation. Farmers, who have received grants, plan to create more than 190 additional jobs in rural areas.
72 applications were submitted for participation in the program on family livestock farms development, of which 37 projects were selected. For these purposes 88 million rubles will be directed, and more than 200 jobs will be created.
The Ministry of Agriculture marks that due to the grants there was a significant increase of production in republican farms. Areas under crops increased by 29 percent, the number of cattle – by 44 percent, sheep and goats – by 75 percent, horses – by 58 percent.
Currently farmers cultivate 17 percent of all agricultural land in Bashkortostan, produce about 7 percent of the republican total meat and poultry, and five percent of milk. The share of farmers in the total volume of gross agricultural production rose in the region from four percent in 2011 to 6.2 percent in 2013.
