Well known foreign companies will continue to manufacture products in Russia

Companies that are owned partly or wholly by foreign firms will continue to manufacture products in Russia. The embargo is imposed only on imports of food from a specific list of countries that declared sanctions against Russia. As the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Nikolay Kovalenko explained on Tuesday, August 12, all companies which have facilities in Russia will continue to work, there are no restrictions. A confectionery, which is owned by the French company "Harris CIS" operates in the republic. The Danone Company and Wimm-Bill-Dann, which belongs to the group of companies "PepsiCo" also have processing facilities in the republic.
“We met and talked with top managers of the enterprises. They operate as business units, carry out modernization, reconstruction. The companies have made solid investments, so there are no any reasons to expect that they will stop their production,” Nikolay Kovalenko marked.
According to him, there is a reverse process. "The Finnish company Valio closes a number of facilities in Finland and is reoriented to open manufactures in Russia. This is due to the fact that both processed and hard cheese is in demand in the Russian market".
“Business in this case will make the right decisions. There are no any threats to the republic in this regard,” Nikolay Kovalenko is sure.
