Unemployment in Ufa fell by 8.9 percent

As of August 1, the number of unemployed people registered in Ufa employment centres is 5968 people, according to the press service of the City Hall. Thus, in the first half of the year their number decreased by 583 people (8.9 percent) compared with the same period of the last year.

The registered unemployment rate is 1.06 percent, which is also below the previous year level by 0.11 percentage points.

About 22 thousand jobs are available in the employment services of the city. This is significantly higher than the number of registered unemployed, so unemployment in Ufa is structural. For example, 83 percent of jobs – are blue-collar occupations, while more than 60 percent of the unemployed have higher or secondary vocational education and are willing to apply only for the position of technical workers and employees. According to the press service of the city administration, Ufa townspeople are also not satisfied with the wages proposed by employers.
