Directorate FAS RF in Bashkortostan examines the reasons of gasoline prices growth

The Directorate of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) in the Republic of Bashkortostan analyzes the causes of increase in retail fuel prices. As the head of the Directorate Zulfira Akbasheva announced at a press conference in Bashinform News Agency, the purpose of this inspection is to get a clear picture of the situation in the retail fuel market and to prevent unjustified price increase, at the same time avoiding the "washing the product off the market". In this case, the situation on the stock exchange is named as a driver of retail prices growth.
According to the head of Directorate FAS RF in Bashkortostan, retail prices naturally grow after increase in stock exchange prices. The retail prices of Bashneft are lower than that of Lukoil, Rosneft, TNK-BP, Alliance.
Yesterday Bashneft for the fourth time this year raised prices for gasoline at its refuelling stations. As the oil company explains, this is due to increase of tax burden and inflation. Excise taxes on motor gasoline increased by more than a thousand rubles per ton compared with 2013. Inflation for the half-year was at the level of 4.8 percent. Bashneft spokesmen note that at the moment the cost of high-octane gasoline at refuelling stations is lower than the price at stations of their competitors with the same scale of activity in all regions of operation.
