Industrial production increased by 0.6 percent in Bashkiria in January-May

In January-May, the index of industrial production (IIP) amounted to 100.6 percent in the republic compared to the same period of 2013, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. At the same time in May, industrial production in the region increased by 2.6 percent compared to May 2013.
Positive trends in the first five months was marked in production of machinery and equipment (121.9 percent), electrical equipment (119.8), vehicles (111.2), chemical production (109.9), manufacture of food products, other non-metallic mineral products, wood processing (106.1 - 107.7), production of petroleum products, generation and distribution of electricity, gas and water supply, mining operations (101.5 - 103.2).
At the same time retardation characterizes production of rubber and plastic products (61.3 percent compared to January-May 2013), pulp and paper, publishing and printing (74), production of leather, leather products and footwear (99), metallurgical (88.7), textile and clothing (94.8) production.
The index of industrial production in Russia as a whole amounted to 101.1 percent to January-May 2013. In regions of the Volga Federal District it ranges from 91.1 percent in the Ulyanovsk region to 117.4 percent in Mordovia.
