Foreign trade turnover decreased by 20.9 percent in Bashkiria compared to January-May 2013 - Customs

Foreign trade turnover in the region of Bashkortostan customs activities amounted to 875.1 million U.S. dollars in January-May, which is by 20.9 percent less than the comparable figure of 2013. 71.5 percent of this amount accounts for exports, 28.5 percent - for imports.

According to the customs, the value of export transactions decreased by 27.8 percent compared to January-May last year, to 632 million dollars – due to decrease in exports of engineering (43.2 percent) and chemical products (38.8 percent), which form 33 and 36.8 percent of total republican exports, respectively. Our republic sends goods to China (27.6 percent of exports), India (18), Finland (6.7), the Netherlands (4.6), Poland (3.7), Uzbekistan (3.2) and other countries. Major shippers are JSC "UMPO", LLC "Industrial Railway Transport", JSC "Ufaorgsintez", JSC "Syntez Kauchuk", JSC "Belmetkombinat", JSC "KumAPP" and several other companies.

The total volume of imports increased by 4.2 percent compared to five months of 2013 - to 251.4 million dollars. Enterprises of the republic started to purchase more engineering products (8 percent) and metals (77.5 percent). These two positions constitute 68.2 percent and 15 percent of total imports, respectively. Import of other goods declined. Among major recipients of foreign goods are JSC "Gazprom neftekhim Salavat", LLC "Kronospan Bashkortostan", LLC "UZDAEWOOAVTO-Ufa", JSC "Salavatneftehimremstroy", LLC "Transterminal", JSC "Bashneftegeofizika", and JSC Bashkir Poultry Plant.
