Food basket cost amounted to 2974.95 rubles in Bashkiria in May

The cost of the minimum food basket amounted to 2974.95 rubles per month in the republic in May. According to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency since the beginning of the year it grew by 13.4 percent.

Inflation in the republic during the same period was 4.1 percent. Foodstuffs rose in price most notably: 107 percent compared to January-May 2013. Services rose by 3.6 percent, non-food products - by 1.4 percent.

The cost of the minimum food basket is calculated based on the price of foodstuffs included in it and norms of consumption for a man of a working age. Statistics use this indicator to reflect regional differentiation of consumer prices for basic products.
