Inflation amounted to 4.1 percent in Bashkiria year to date

The consumer price index was 104.1 percent in the republic in January-May, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. Across Russia index was 104.2 percent. In the Volga Federal District it ranged from 103.2 percent in Udmurtia to 104.9 percent in Chuvashia.

The inflation accelerated by 1.1 percentage points compared to January-May 2013 (4.1 vs. 3 percent).

Food prices (107 percent vs.104.9) and services (103.6 vs. 102.3) showed outstripping growth rate. On the contrary increase in prices for non-food products slowed down (101.4 vs. 101.6 percent).
