Rustem Khamitov has met with leaders of PowerChina in Shanghai

On May 20, in Shanghai (China) the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with leaders of PowerChina Company.

The Company Deputy CEO Yao Jiang said that he arrived at the meeting from the signing of an agreement on cooperation between PowerChina and JSC RusHydro, which took place in presence of two heads of states – the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the PRC President Xi Jinping.

“In China our company built about 70 percent of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric plants and approximately 50 percent of hydraulic engineering works are performed by us globally. Also building of roads, bridges and tunnels is conducted. Of the more than 1,000 kilometres of "Shanghai - Beijing" highway we built 300 km. Also we design and erect subway lines”, Yao Jiang said. “We know that your republic is one of the leading regions in the Russian Federation on social and economic indicators and we put high hopes on cooperation with Bashkortostan.”

“We have been negotiating with your company for a long time and we are focused on serious joint work”, Rustem Khamitov underlined. “Now opening of a Sinohydro office (a part of PowerChina) in Ufa is under consideration. We have a great amount of work: energy sector and infrastructure are developed, sports facilities and roads are built.”

Khamitov invited a delegation of PowerChina to Bashkortostan to discuss joint projects with generating and oil companies operating in the territory of the republic: RusHydro, Inter RAO, Bashneft and others.

The President of Bashkortostan recalled that the same day our heads of the states signed the agreement under which Russia and China would interact closely.
