Bashneft will buy equipment for treatment facilities for 1.6 billion rubles at General Electric

Bashneft has signed a contract with General Electric for delivery and installation of main process equipment as part of a modernization project of biological treatment facilities (BTF) at its subsidiary Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim. The contract value totals 1.6 billion rubles, the company’s press-service informs.
The parties agreed on delivery within a year of process equipment for main units of membrane bioreactor, electrodialysis reversal, reverse osmosis and selective ion exchange units. Supervision of installation, tests and adjustments are also provided under the contract.
The advanced technologies developed by General Electric will enable Bashneft to reuse treated water at its refineries and reduce the area of treatment facilities.
The modernized BTF will be put into operation in late 2015. The total project cost is estimated at 4.6 billion rubles.
Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim’s biological treatment facilities were commissioned in 1958 and underwent renovation in 1983. All industrial and domestic wastewater and stormwater from three refineries of Bashneft and several other facilities forming part of the Northern Industrial Hub of Ufa including OJSC Ufaorgsintez, the Cherkassy pumping station, the Promoborudovanie plant are delivered to these BTF.
