There are nearly 1.9 million workers in Bashkortostan - Statistics

In Bashkortostan 1872.5 thousand people are employed, including 987.9 thousand men and 884.5 thousand women. Their average age is 40 years. The structure of the republican labour force on the eve of the Spring and Labour Day was analyzed by Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.

The predominant part of employed people in the economy (77.5 percent) is concentrated at companies and organizations. Every fourth working person is employed as individual entrepreneur, farmer or is engaged in the agricultural production at private farms, etc.

The economically active population of the republic is 1988.4 thousand people. International Labour Organization also includes unemployed people in this category. According to data of 2013 there are 116,000 unemployed people in Bashkortostan, or 5.8 percent of the economically active population. 39.7 percent of the unemployed are young people aged under 30 years. Most of the unemployed in the republic - 69.8 percent - have professional education, of which 15.2 percent have higher education, 22.3 percent - secondary vocational education.

According to the statistical survey, the average job search time constitutes seven months in the republic.
