Bashkortostan President ensures Kronospan’s environmental safety

“The "Kronospan" plant will be built according to the highest environmental standards, it will be faultless and safe company, a standard of an industrial plant that does not make harm to the environment,” the head of Bashkortostan Republic Rustem Khamitov said during the press conference on Monday. The President RB assured journalists and the public that the citizens and residents of Ufa area had no reasons for concern.

“The construction project of this company passed the state and non-state expertise, socio- environmental survey. According to their results positive conclusions were received. Basing on the total package of documents Ufa district decided to begin the construction. Today, works on road filling are conducted on the site of the future plant. The construction will be started in a month and a half”, the head of the region said.

Rustem Khamitov answering the question about safety of new woodworking factory for Ufa residents added that there would be no dirty, environmentally imperfect enterprise in Ufa and near the capital.

Recall that the decision to start construction of a large enterprise on woodworking and production of building materials was preceded by protest events, rallies and pickets in Ufa district. Rustem Khamitov named fears and blames of residents unfounded as all procedures had been carried out legally.

Bashkortostan President noted that the Kronospan company would help to restore order in the republican timber industry, would create new highly-paid jobs.
