Rustem Khamitov met with Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller

On April 17 at the House of Republic the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Gazprom" Alexey Miller, the press service of the head of the region informs.

The President called "Gazprom" as significant company for Bashkortostan. The head of the republic thanked the company for powerful social support, for help in construction of facilities for the International Children's Games. Rustem Khamitov noted that "Gazprom neftekhim Salavat " was very actively modernized.

“We have a good program in oil refining and in creation of new chemical, power sector capacities. Now a new Salavat heat power plant is on the way, new capacities will be put into operation there in 2015. Among other things, there is a synergetic effect with respect to other companies. The cities of Salavat Sterlitamak, Ufa and other surrounding areas are developing. It's a great and interesting work. Recently we managed jointly with "Gazprom" and Ufa Engine Production Association to resolve an issue of reliability of gas pumping units and drives of pumping units. Of course, we have some offers for further development of our cooperation and development of our teamwork. Such a powerful region as Bashkortostan has big plans for creation of gas chemistry, formation of clusters for production of finished products, for work on import substitution and so on,” the head of the republic said.

In turn, Alexey Miller noted that Bashkortostan was very important partner for the company.

“I want to acknowledge the role played by the republic in gas transportation. Indeed, a huge amount of gas we are pumping through the territory of Bashkortostan, more than 100 billion cubic metres of gas for a year. Of course, these are additional opportunities for our cooperation and creation of new industries, new capacities in gas processing, gas chemistry,” the head of Gazprom marked. According to him, his current visit to Bashkortostan is connected not only with issues of bilateral cooperation, but also with conducting a nationwide gas processing forum in Ufa.

“We have decided that such a meeting should be held in Ufa, with an understanding of the role played by the republic in gas processing and gas chemistry in Russia. Here we will talk not only about issues of work in Bashkortostan, but also about development of the entire gas processing industry in the Russian Federation, including Eastern Siberia, the east of the country. It is really recognition of the role and understanding of the place that Bashkortostan takes in this sector of the Russian economy”, Alexey Miller underlined.
